Team USA to Play Austria in Exhibition Game Tuesday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck (Commerce, Mich./St. John's) has been added to the 2015 U.S. Men's National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship May 1-17 in Ostrava and Prague, Czech Republic.

Hellebuyck was also a member of the 2014 U.S. Men's National Team that competed at the IIHF Men's World Championship last May in Minsk, Belarus, but he did not see game action. He spent the 2014-15 season competing for St. John's of the American Hockey League, an affiliate of the National Hockey League's Winnipeg Jets. In his first professional season, he played 58 regular-season games and finished with a 28-22-5 record, 2.58 goals-against average and .921 save percentage. Hellebuyck was the starting netminder for the Eastern Conference in the AHL All-Star Game.

A fifth-round draft pick (130th overall) by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Hellebuyck played college hockey at UMass-Lowell, where in two years (2012-14) he recorded a 38-12-2 record (1.60, .946). Hellebuyck, who played one year (2011-12) of junior hockey for the North American Hockey League's Odessa Jackalopes, was named the 2014 recipient of the Mike Richter Award, significant of the top netminder in NCAA Division I men's ice hockey.

Team USA's roster now has 11 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goaltenders.
