USA vs. Russia -- The Series

The U.S. Men’s National Team faces Russia at Minsk Arena  at the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship. It’s an early showdown for first place in Group B as both teams have won their first two games. Live coverage from NBC Sports Network begins at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Team USA is 4-1-0-5-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) against Russia in the IIHF Men’s World Championship. Last year, the nations squared off twice. In the preliminary round, Russia posted a 5-3 win. The U.S. bounced back with an 8-3 quarterfinal victory. Craig Smith tallied five assists in the win and Jacob Trouba scored once. Against the Soviet Union, the U.S. was 0-0-0-28-0.
